Taron Cochrane - DesignerTaron Cochrane Designs was started by me (Taron Cochrane) in January, 2008 as a more professional and marketable way of showcasing all of my design work and hopefully gaining some more clients down the road.

I was raised in the small town of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan roughly an hour north of Regina and have always been fascinated by art & design. From childhood to adulthood there has always been a strong passion for drawing and sketching. This would be the ground work for what would soon become an exciting and fulfilling career in design.

In 2006, mixing my passion for music with art, I was fortunate enough to start working with some of my favorite bands, musicians, record labels and people. While I was doing this freelance design work I realized that there was potential for more. So on the side, I also began interviewing these bands for online publicity and in the process also gained some new clients and friends.

To date, I have designed album layouts, logos, t-shirts, buttons, stickers, fliers and album covers for over 50 clients ranging from Beijing to Boston...England to Hollywood.

Some of the highlights of my freelance career have been: seeing my work featured in popular magazines, on popular web sites, having it being sold across North America and Europe, winning the 2007 Regina Folk Festival artwork contest and being interviewed by a popular Romanian magazine.

After enjoying this success, I decided that it was time to return to school and learn as much as I possibly could about the 'design-world". In 2007, I graduated at the top of my class from the New Media Communications program at SIAST in Regina and soon after began my new career as a graphic designer.

Becoming a graphic designer has opened many doors for me. For example, I was in charge of the 2007 Regina Food Bank food drive advertising campaign. This event was marketed with a new logo, slogan and complete advertising blitz that saw ads featured on the front page of the Regina Leader Post and on 70,000 paper bags mailed to Regina households before the event. The mayor of Regina was also involved in this campaign and with the generosity and hard work of all the amazing volunteers we won the Guinness World Record for the most food donated in a 24 hour period.

Since that time, I have began to start focusing more of my talents toward corporate identities and marketing toward the business world. I enjoy facing new challenges and growing from past experiences, so even if your in a great band and need a t-shirt or if you run a local business in need of a fresh look...please get in touch, I would love to work with you!
